BDIA Partners with BREATHE to Champion Wellbeing in Dentistry
Dec 27, 2025The British Dental Industry Association (BDIA) has officially partnered with BREATHE, the national wellbeing initiative co-founded by Dr Rana Al-Falaki and Jackie Cooper, to improve mental health and wellbeing across the entire UK dental sector.
Launched by England’s Chief Dental Officer, Jason Wong MBE, at BDIA Dental Showcase 2025, BREATHE is the first platform designed specifically to support the wellbeing of everyone in dentistry — from clinicians and technicians to practice managers, receptionists, and industry teams.
Offering practical tools, expert guidance, and signposts to professional help, BREATHE creates an accessible, stigma-free space where every member of the dental community can find support, connection, and growth.
“BREATHE was created because we saw how much the dental community needed a safe space to talk about mental health and find genuine support. Partnering with the BDIA helps us reach more people and keep wellbeing at the heart of the conversation in dentistry.”
— Dr Rana Al-Falaki, Co-Founder of BREATHE
“Wellbeing isn’t just a nice-to-have — it’s essential to keeping our teams healthy, motivated, and able to deliver great patient care.”
— Edmund Proffitt, Chief Executive, BDIA
This partnership marks a new era of collaboration — combining the BDIA’s national network with BREATHE’s evidence-based wellbeing framework to support resilience, performance, and psychological safety throughout the profession.
